5. Action planning
The standard calls for "planning the actions to be taken in response to risks and opportunities" § 6.1.2. These actions may include :
on the causes, or factors, of uncertainty;
on potential effects or consequences.
An action, or action plan, implemented in response to risks is managed in the same spirit as continuous improvement actions (§ 10.1) or corrective actions (§ 10.2). The risk-based approach feeds into the continuous improvement process, replacing and complementing the preventive action requirements of the previous version of the standard.
If your organization is already certified, you can keep your existing best practices and means of monitoring preventive, corrective and continuous improvement action plans.
