At company level, proposals for the development of solutions to reduce non-quality costs in each area can be compared with proposals from areas other than quality. Trade-offs can then be made according to the profitability of the proposals, the availability of resources, and the company's strategic objectives.
It goes without saying that for quality proposals requiring few resources or with little economic stakes, it may be decided to carry out this arbitration at the level of a service or department, and not at company level.
Including non-quality cost reduction objectives in the company's or entity's general objectives will make management's commitment more visible, and facilitate progress monitoring and review.
