7. Mistakes to avoid
7.1 Don't set up your plant on or near a Natura 2000 site
Do not set up your new classified facility subject to registration on a site where it could potentially affect a Natura 2000 site. In this case, the authorities may deem your application incomplete on the grounds that it does not include a study of the impact on the Natura 2000 site, or may even decide that the registration application should be examined under the rules of the authorization procedure. In this case, you will have to submit an application for authorization (including an impact study and a hazard study), which will be examined in a procedure lasting over a year and including a public inquiry.
