5. You take responsibility for your priority environmental issues

Unlike the cumbersome and complex authorization file, the operator can take ownership of his registration file, which he is not obliged to entrust to an engineering firm. This file enables them to assess the regulatory and technical status of their facilities. If there are any discrepancies that cannot be remedied, the operator can ask for the general prescriptions to be amended.

There are two possible administrative responses to a request to modify the general prescriptions:

  • if justified by the modified requirements, the Prefect may decide that the registration application will be examined in accordance with the rules of the authorization procedure. The operator will then be required to submit an application for authorization (including an impact study and a hazard...
