     INTRODUCTION

    Instrumented risk control measures (IRCMs) are safety barriers comprising technical and/or organizational elements involving safety instrumentation. More concretely, an IRMM comprises an information input (sensor/detector), a processing system (PLC, relay system, etc.) and an action, which may be automatic or require human intervention to implement.

    The decree of October 4, 2010 on the modernization plan for industrial facilities (PMII), requires manufacturers to implement measures to deal with the ageing of instrumented risk management measures (MMRI).
