6. Update your project plan and document best practices

The project management plan is a document that must be accepted and approved by the stakeholders involved. It is a document that everyone will agree is realistic, and which will form the basis of controls throughout the project. The dates of validation by each of the stakeholders will be recorded in the reference document.

Project changes and developments will often require the PMP to be updated. The reference project management plan includes dates for revising and updating the data concerned.

Plan meetings with your stakeholders at the end of each phase to review the management of the project plan, highlight best practices (REX) for later application and capitalize on them at the end of the project for future projects.
