1. Drawing up the project charter

This process will lead to the development of a document, the project charter, which authorizes the existence of the project and assigns it a project manager appointed with a mission statement.

The project manager has the authority to form a team and allocate the appropriate resources needed to ensure that the project runs smoothly.

This project charter establishes a contractual partnership between –, the customer –, and –, the supplier.

The project charter defines :

• project objectives ;

• the subdivision and description of the work packages making up the project scope ( scope of work – SOW);
