2. Define the various project players and build a team
Placing names on an organization chart doesn't create a project team; each person must have a clear understanding of his or her role and responsibilities, and those of the other team members.
The aim must be to build the "dream team".
The project director, or project manager, must above all be a conductor, not a one-man band. His or her ability to delegate will give him or her the clout to bring the project to a successful conclusion as a team.
He is fully responsible for project results.
He must therefore be aware of his strengths and weaknesses (technical, non-technical or behavioral skills) and take them into account when creating the team.
The project manager must recognize the strengths, knowledge and experience of each team member.
