When companies deal with turnkey contracts, they are generally organized on a matrix or project basis.

These structures combine the skills of the project manager with those of the specialist in each major function.

These structures are particularly well-suited to the growing complexity of business and the need for flexibility.

A project can be created or cancelled without modifying the matrix or project structure.

The matrix structure is customer-oriented, facilitating decentralization and team motivation.

It can lead to coordination difficulties and conflicts (if the weight of functional and divisional aspects is too disproportionate).

Employees report to the project manager, but are hierarchically attached to a department manager....
