2. Secure your creation date

As the saying goes, an idea is "free". This means that an idea as such cannot be protected, not only by patent law, but also by other industrial property rights (trademarks, designs) or by intellectual property law (copyright).

In order to consider protection, it is therefore essential to formalize the idea, i.e. to give it concrete form, even if it is not yet complete.

This concretization can take various forms: a written document, of course, but also drawings, diagrams, models, formulas, audio or video recordings...

Once the idea has been formalized, protection can be envisaged. However, as the process of researching, analyzing and drafting a patent application can be lengthy, it may be advisable to proceed with a probationary filing.
