5. Building a management package to meet the challenges ahead
All the elements of compensation – fixed, variable, shareholding... – make up the managerial package that may be offered to the exploratory team, particularly in the context of setting up a new company. The package should be tailored to the risks that employees will be taking when they join the new entity. For example, will they benefit from a safety net in the event of failure in the new company? Will their employability be increased or reduced? Should we consider a competitor who could poach some of your explorers and prepare a very attractive package? Does the territory the explorers are trying to conquer obey the same rules as the one you know (bonuses, base salary...)?
