7. Mistakes to avoid

7.1 Don't try to go too fast

While it's important to move quickly through the incubation stages, the exit from incubation must be done calmly, coolly and with a great deal of serenity. So don't go too fast, and don't try to force the sponsor's hand: he needs to buy and take the lead. And if that takes time, that's okay. If it seems like a waste of time, you don't have a choice, because without a sponsor, you don't exist. Just as a start-up can't survive without a backer.
