1. Restart the machine internally and manage the public dimension
When a crisis takes on a public dimension, the "public" (endogenous or exogenous) takes it on board, giving the dysfunction that generates the crisis a whole new dimension. This acceleration, both functional and media-related, forces the organization to react, especially in view of the instantaneous circulation of information.
Managers and supervisors focus first and foremost on managing the crisis itself: "putting out the fire, taking care of any victims, communicating with families, encouraging people to get back to work (business continuity), looking for the causes to contain the consequences".
On the emergency scale, communication comes second, yet the organization's image depends on it.
