11. Environmental aspects

An energy audit is the basis for any action taken to reduce environmental impact, through its results in reducing the use of energy resources and its impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Any serious approach to reducing environmental impact must therefore begin with an energy diagnostic to quantify the level of impact (energy balances, PEIs and associated emissions) and define the actions and means to reduce it.

Similarly, if the company is considering its energy choices, i.e. the type of energy to be consumed (fossil fuels, nuclear power, renewable energies), and in particular the use of renewable energies (hydraulic, photovoltaic, solar, wind power, for example), it is imperative to carry out an energy diagnosis prior to any decision, in order to quantify the real energy requirements and optimize the use of different energy sources...
