3.1 Rational use of energy (RUE)
Energy diagnostics and, more generally, energy savings and optimization, are all part of the Rational Use of Energy (RUE) field. This field mainly covers the end use, that of energy users, but the principles, recommendations and approaches of RUE can be applied throughout the energy chain. These consist in implementing the actions required to optimize a system's energy performance, starting with an energy diagnosis.
