6. Hazardous waste treatment

Hazardous waste and all items coming into direct contact with hazardous materials must be stored packaged, separately from each other, in leakproof containers to avoid any risk of dangerous chemical reaction.

To dispose of hazardous building site waste, the owner or contractor must call on the services of a specialized, approved company, classified as an ICPE (Installation Classée pour la Protection de l'Environnement). However, these companies can only dispose of waste once they have obtained a prefectoral authorization order.

Finally, the contractor must also bear in mind that to transport this site waste between different sites, he will need to call on the services of a specialized, approved conveyor, part of the ICPE and complying with the ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road)....
