3. Waste sorting and collection

3.1 Seven-stream sorting

The following seven categories of waste must be sorted separately:

  • mineral fractions (concrete, brick, slate, tile, ceramic, rubble, concrete);

  • Plastics ;

  • metal ;

  • GLASS;

  • paper/cardboard ;

  • wood ;

  • plaster.

This compulsory sorting is known as "seven-stream sorting" (article 278 of the French Environment Code).

Remember that it is also compulsory to sort other waste separately:

  • hazardous waste (excluding asbestos);
