8. Mistakes to avoid
8.1 Don't dissociate management strategy and quality management
A company's strategy and its quality management system must be connected. Analysis of the company's context was not included in previous versions of the ISO 9001 standard, so it was possible for a company to have a management system that was disconnected from its strategic orientation and its context. We could see two distinctive elements emerging: on the one hand, a course set by management, and on the other, a quality management system. These two elements could move in the same direction without ever touching. From now on, these two worlds will have to come together.
