Jean-Pierre PAYRE: Senior project manager – Project management consultant, Grenoble, France
INTRODUCTION
Most of the elementary tasks have a technical content; the objectives are to determine the relationships between the tasks and to coordinate them on a time scale (start date and end date, which gives it a duration).
The planning function is carried out by the planner, who is the project manager's co-pilot; he or she is responsible for drawing up the schedule, checking progress against contractual commitments, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, and proposing recommendations for action to achieve contractual performance on time.
