6. Advising on the choice of tools and taking part in deployment
Once the methodological building blocks have been laid and enriched on a regular basis, the PMO Méthode is also responsible for providing informed advice on the choice of tools to be used in project management disciplines. Most of the time, the path starts with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel for financials and risks, Microsoft Project for planning, PowerPoint for presentations and Word for reporting). As the organization's project management maturity increases, these tools are replaced by more advanced ones, offered by specialized software publishers. For example, risks can be managed by ARM-type software, financial analyses continue to be carried out in Excel but are supported by an ERP package such as SAP, and reporting is produced directly from a project management intranet tool.
