1. Determine the objectives of your project plan

Like the project management plan of which it is a part, the project communication plan is a living tool. Its initial version enables you to consider all the communication aspects to be taken into account with regard to your various targets. Regularly updated as the project progresses, it is discussed and approved by the steering committee.

An effective communication plan takes two key elements into account:

• project purpose and deliverables ;

• communication objectives.
