4. How can you structure your media to make them more effective?

Presentation software, such as PowerPoint , has become an indispensable tool for professional communication. They have rapidly supplanted transparencies, slides and other whiteboards, making it possible to produce attractive presentations very quickly.

Nevertheless, communication standards must be respected if your presentations are to remain effective. The possibilities offered by these programs are very extensive, and many functions can be seen as more of a gimmick than anything else: animations that scroll the title letter by letter are a case in point.

  • An effective medium is a sober one. Slides should be as light as possible. Put only the key messages you want your audience to remember on the screen. Adopt a telegraphic style, so that the eye only catches the information you want to share. Avoid whole sentences,...
