1. Why does every presentation have to be different?
1.1 Prepare your speech by targeting just two or three key messages
First and foremost, it's important to remember that the bulk (between 50 and 80%) of the message your listeners receive is conveyed through non-verbal communication: attitude and voice intonation. Less than half of the information perceived therefore comes from the content, the spoken word or the projected text. You need to prepare your speech in advance by identifying what information your audience needs to acquire, and adapt your speech accordingly to effectively convey these target messages. Don't drown your audience in a flood of words; say only what's necessary.
