6. Tidy up for easier searching

Since the advent of Google, Internet users have become accustomed to searching for information using a search engine. However, these tools have their limits. Despite all the progress made in the semantic web, analysis cannot interpret the meaning of words. There are ways of facilitating the search for content or data.

6.1 Assigning metadata

This collaborative activity is a solution to facilitate content research.

Metadata can be :

  • subject metadata giving the who and what (subject, description, keywords, tags, etc.);

  • asset metadata indicating who, where and when (title, author, contributor, date, source, etc.);
