INTRODUCTION
The example of the Japanese automotive market has shown that a long-term continuous improvement approach creates the conditions for a technological leap forward. This approach includes an effort to reduce "waste" that is not valued by the customer, enabling costs to be controlled and attractive selling prices to be offered.
The continuous innovation model is defined as a process of constant and systematic incremental improvement on the product and on avoidable sources of waste in the design, production and sales processes.
