1.1 Clarifying the pitch context

A pitch never takes place in a vacuum. It's always part of a particular environment, with its own constraints of time, format and expectations.

The content, tone and structure of a pitch vary considerably depending on how it is delivered:

  • during an innovation competition;

  • in response to a call for tenders ;

  • at an internal strategy meeting;

  • in front of a prospect or customer;

  • on an exhibition stand.
