4. Organize the investigation around knowledge books

Once this initial inventory of skills and knowledge has been completed, sub-working groups will be set up to carry out the various tasks within the planned deadlines.

Each sub-working group will take the mind map or elements corresponding to its workload and add to the knowledge base as actions are carried out. Each action will be assigned a manager and contributors, as well as one or more deliverables. At this stage, it is advisable to use traditional project management tools.

These deliverables are usually produced in the form of a "knowledge book." This is an intermediate design document of a few pages (usually 2 to 10 pages) that provides a very concise description of the state of knowledge at a given point in time. The purpose of a knowledge book is to:
