The concept of sustainable development appears particularly useful for progressively integrating various construction solutions. Conversely, it allows us to view technical design as a combination of choices that must be tailored to the context of each project. In doing so, the emphasis is placed on the decision-maker’s responsibility to seek, in each instance, a satisfactory solution rather than a definitive one. A building is not merely a physical object but also a system that interacts with the end user. In this sense, designing is above all about anticipating future needs.
