2. Creating an atmosphere
This involves, at all times:
contributing to thermal comfort in a way that does not hinder the user’s activities;
contributing to lighting comfort by providing a level of illumination appropriate for the activity;
contributing to olfactory comfort through adequate air exchange;
contributing to acoustic comfort by ensuring an acceptable noise level given the activity.
The parameters influencing these comfort factors are twofold.
While the nature of the activities in question plays a significant role, climate change must also be taken into account. However, in all cases, the key factor to monitor remains energy consumption levels.
