 INTRODUCTION

Self-propelled forklift trucks are so widely used that it may seem pointless to talk about their technical aspects. To do so would be to ignore the complexity of the problems they pose, both in terms of selection and operation. This is true for the traction batteries fitted to electric forklift trucks, and for the transmissions of internal combustion engine forklift trucks. It's also the case for wheel-ground interaction and ergonomics, essential for safety and working conditions.
