15. Behavioral actions
Energy-saving actions on buildings and equipment are sources of reduction in the corresponding energy consumption, for which more or less substantial funding is required. Another type of action that is just as important, but which does not require a substantial budget (or even none at all), is staff awareness-raising, information and training. These actions, which often cost nothing, can easily be implemented, with an average energy-saving potential of 10%.
For each energy use, the following actions should be implemented:
record and display the operating conditions of each piece of equipment to ensure optimum energy performance;
inform and train staff about these instructions, including in particular the requirement to switch off all unused equipment.
