13. Cast iron with metal coating

13.1 Field of application

This material sheet concerns metal-coated cast iron (Fe, C alloy) and articles made exclusively of metal-coated cast iron, which in the finished state are intended to come into direct contact with food products and are used repeatedly.

Metallic coatings include nickel and chrome.

The main application examples are as follows:

  • household items: baking trays, etc. ;

  • food industry equipment: cooking elements, etc.
