6. Steel and stainless steel + metal coating (excluding packaging)

6.1 Field of application

This includes steel (as defined in NF EN 10 020 "Definitions and classifications of steel grades") with a metallic coating, and articles made exclusively of steel with a metallic coating, which in their finished state are intended to come into contact with foodstuffs, products and beverages for human or animal consumption.

This does not apply to products and articles which are not intended, under normal conditions of use or other normally foreseeable conditions, to come into contact with food products.

This does not apply to items covered by the "Steel for packaging" and "Stainless steel" sheets.
