3. Forming a group

VA is a team effort that requires a multidisciplinary group with knowledge of the product, and in particular :

  • its market, its customers and their needs, its competitors ;

  • the technologies envisaged to achieve it ;

  • how it will be installed, commissioned, maintained and serviced;

  • how it will be used;

  • the environment in which it will be used.

Designate a facilitator, but don't let him or her be the applicant or the project manager. Choose someone who :

  • knows the VA method;

  • knows how to lead a group;

  • is neutral and benevolent.
