5. Perform a functional analysis of the product

This phase aims to :

  • define, in terms of function, what the product is to do or what it is to be used for in the various phases of its life cycle, and the applications and/or uses it is to be used for;

  • describe the product's operation in terms of interdependent functional blocks.
