9. D8 – Lessons learned, recognition of team results, 8D closure

9.1 The activities

  • Close the 8D report officially and with a guarantee of non-recurrence (as far as we know!).

  • Determine whether or not customer approval of solutions is required.

  • Demobilize resources.

  • Develop the QMS.

  • Show appreciation for the team (promoting the corporate culture) by offering thanks, congratulations and encouragement.

  • Organize a "Lesson Learnt" or feedback on good and bad practices, and difficulties encountered in implementing 8D (self-assessment, database, REX – feedback).
