INTRODUCTION
Defining the project scope gives stakeholders a shared understanding of the project and its objectives.
The project perimeter (SOW) defines the boundaries of the project.
It can be structured into work packages (WP).
From the stakeholders' point of view, it covers all the deliverables included in the project.
These deliverables are to be distributed at milestones. They may be subject to changes and modifications throughout the project.
Managing the project scope involves :
federate and mobilize the stakeholders who will contribute to the project's definition, design and implementation, right through to completion;
define what is and isn't part of the project, and provide a detailed description of the project, its product, and the activities and resources needed to carry it out;
check and control the scope and its evolution throughout the project using appropriate methods and tools, and integrate the necessary changes, modifications, updates and revisions right up to the closing processes.
