Project scope verification consists of formalizing acceptance of project deliverables.
Checking the scope of the project includes verifying its deliverables with the project sponsor or customer to ensure that they meet the defined satisfaction criteria, and to obtain formal acceptance agreement.
Expected benefits include
formal acceptance by the sponsor (or project customer) of deliverables that meet the satisfaction criteria;
