5. Check project scope

Project scope verification consists of formalizing acceptance of project deliverables.

Checking the scope of the project includes verifying its deliverables with the project sponsor or customer to ensure that they meet the defined satisfaction criteria, and to obtain formal acceptance agreement.

Expected benefits include

  • formal acceptance by the sponsor (or project customer) of deliverables that meet the satisfaction criteria;

  • change requests; once the reasons for non-acceptance of deliverables have been documented, they can be the subject of a change request for correction (of implementation faults) or modification; requests are prepared by the project manager and processed for decision by the company's change control process;
