11. An indispensable asset: energy metering and monitoring

To find out how much energy you consume, you need to set up a more or less detailed metering and monitoring system, which can be combined with calculations to establish your energy performance. The other advantages of setting up an energy metering and monitoring system (the metering plan) are as follows:

• Identify deviations and incidents as early as possible in order to intervene and rectify them as quickly as possible;
