8.1 Monitoring and control of boiler rooms and annexes

Industrial sites are required to monitor and control the proper operation of boiler room equipment. The new 2020 regulations (Order of July 24, 2020 on the inspection of boilers) are not limited to checking the boiler(s) or boiler room, but include inspection of the entire heat distribution circuit, right down to the radiator.

The purpose of regulatory control is twofold:

1. Checking the energy efficiency of a heating system;

2. Preventing the risk of air pollution.

The companies concerned must carry out mandatory periodic boiler inspections when boiler output exceeds 400 kW, up to an output of 20 MW....
