7. Define recognition procedures
Encouraging suggestions is essential. This encouragement can take different forms.
First of all, it's essential to recognize the contribution of your staff. You'll need to show your appreciation to those who have been involved, and highlight the benefits of their participation. You will also need to communicate to all staff about the people involved in the suggestion system, either in writing (posters, written communication, newsletter, etc.) or orally (at meetings, events, etc.).
You can also organize a ranking of the best contributions. You'll need to define criteria and involve a jury. Honorary distinctions can be awarded: "the idea that saved money", "the idea that improved working conditions", "the most innovative idea", and so on.
