INTRODUCTION
Many tools have been developed to instrument eco-innovation processes. Few of them focus on creativity processes to encourage the generation of ideas with high environmental and social potential, while differentiating from competitors.
This fact sheet shows you how to use environmental constraints to generate eco-innovative ideas, using the MID tool. This method offers numerous benefits (ease of use and learning; rapid implementation in the design process; effective help in stimulating the group; help in structuring the problem; savings in resources such as manpower, time and means).
The MID eco-ideation tool, a generalization of the EcoASIT tool (see Bibliography section), will help you generate eco-innovative ideas:
effectively stimulating the project group;
taking into account the life-cycle approach;
taking into account the environmental and societal dimensions of sustainable development.
