Standard practice for internal non structural epoxy barrier coating material used in rehabilitation of metallic pressurized piping systems

This standard is intended to establish the minimum criteria necessary for use of a mechanically mixed, blended, epoxy barrier coating that is applied to the interior of 1/2 in. (12.7 mm) to 36 in. (914.4 mm) metallic pipe or tube used in pressurized piping systems for corrosion protection and to improve flow rates. There is no restriction as to the developed length of the piping system other than the method of application and the characteristics of the epoxy coating being applied but the manufacturer’s engineer shall be consulted for any limitations associated with this product, process and its application for the end user.

Application of tape coatings for external corrosion protection of buried metal pipelines

This standard practice provides the most current technology and industry practices for material requirements and the use of tape coatings for external mainline coating, coating repair, coating rehabilitation, and coating weld joints on buried metal pipelines. The standard includes two tables that describe the prevailing tape and coating materials and accessories, and seven tables that list system material requirements for various types of tape applications. For quick reference, applicable test methods are included in the material requirements tables. The standard is applicable to underground metal pipelines in the oil and gas gathering, distribution, and transmission industries, as well as water and wastewater pipelines. It is intended for use by corrosion control personnel, design engineers, project managers, purchasing personnel, and construction engineers and managers.
